Ratings Review: 2017 World Series (Dodgers vs Astros)

FOX got exactly what it needed from the 2017 World Series, a seven-game series that had plenty of drama and no blow outs games. It may be quite a while before ratings will matched last year's CUBS vs INDIANS series, but having the LA and Houston markets represented didn't hurt the numbers.

All seven games had close scores, with five of the games decided by two or less runs and the other two where within 4 runs. Two nights (Games 2 & 5) featured extra inning games.

The series averaged 18.7 million viewers, down four million from lat year's series. It was the second best numbers since the 2009 series, which averaged 19.3 million viewers and the 28.2 million viewers for game 7 was the most since 2002.
