Nielsen Reports Ratings for STRANGER THINGS 2 Premiere
According to Nielsen's new Netflix ratings service, 15.8 million viewers watched the second season premiere episode of STRANGER THINGS, with in the first three days of its release. That tops the 15.0 million viewers that watched the 8th season premiere of THE WALKING DEAD, a week earlier, and is about two million viewers shy of NBC's hit drama, THIS IS US.
STRANGER THINGS 2 also posted an 8.5 rating in Adults 18-49 (11 million viewers) for the first episode. In comparison, THE WALKING DEAD posted a 6.8 in the key demographic and THIS IS US posted a 5.7 rating.
Other numbers reported by Nielsen were that 361,000 subscribers watched all nine episodes within 24 hours of the season's release. Each of the nine episode have been watched by at least 4.0 million viewers. Episode two had had 13.6 million viewers and episode three had 11.6 million viewers. The last episode of the season had 4.6 million viewers
The numbers are only being reported by Nielsen and Netflix is remaining silent on the data.
