Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 02/08/2018

Starting a day earlier than normal, NBC kicked of its 18 night coverage of the XXIII Winter Olympics in winning fashion. 14.5 million viewers and a 3.3 rating in Adults 18-49, tuned into see the first events of the games, mostly featuring figure skating. The relatively low number may be from the unusual Thursday start, before the traditional Opening Ceremonies.

ABC and FOX were deadlocked for second place, posting identical demographic numbers and only 700k in total viewers separating them. TH FOUR ended its first season with slightly above normal ratings, getting 4.0 million viewers and a 1.3 demo rating.

For ABC, the three dramas were only slight off recent viewing levels, but HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER struggled to beat an encore of SWAT, in the 10 PM hour.

CBS a wa relatively competitive fourth place, even with two hours of repeats. Night two of CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER topped FOX for third in the 8 PM hour
