Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 16, 2012

The Sunday ratings were a little off with the President addressing America on the Newtown, CT shootings at approximately 9:00 p.m. ET.

SURVIVOR finale drew strong numbers on the night. 11.46 million viewers and a 3.2 demo rating over the two+ hours. The season started out slow, but the last few weeks picked up steam and delivered season highs. The momentum should help with the new season come February.

The only other program of note was SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. The 49ers vs Patriots game could have, should have drawn bigger numbers had San Francisco not jumped out to a huge lead in the first half. Some viewers missed out an almost great comeback by New England. But with all that, the game was up almost 2 million viewers and nearly a full ratings point in the demo, from the previous week.
