SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE back with kids:
FOX is hoping that kid competitors can help pump in new life for the fledgling dance competition series, SO YO THINK YOU CAN DANCE, for 2016. The new series will have the added "THE NEXT GENERATION" added to its title.
NBC renews two dramas:
CHICAGO MED and the long running LAW & ORDER: SVU have been picked up for the 2016-17 TV season. The network also extends its pack with producer Dick Wolf through 2020.
NFL Adds new partner to TNF:
NBC will be joining CBS and the NFL Network as partner in airing TNF in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. [LINK]
Netflix picks up sketch comedy:
The streaming network has picked up THE CHARACTERS, with the first batch of episodes releasing March 11. The series will be an anthology type of series, featuring a different comedian in each episode.
SECOND CHANCE getting last chance:
With poor ratings in its first two outing, FOX is moving the freshman drama, SECOND CHANCE to Friday Nights. To fill the Wednesday void, HELL'S KITCHEN will follow AMERICAN IDOL.
Showtime renews freshman series:
After just two episodes, Showtime has renewed first year series, BILLIONS, for a second season.
More GILMORE GIRLS:
Netflix is officially reviving the GILMORE GIRLS for a new series. No details on how many episodes or when the new series will premiere.
More Netflix news:
HOUSE OF CARDS will be back for a 5th season, but the show's creator will not. This comes out a month before season 4 is set to be released, on March 4, 2016.
Amazon gets AMERICAN GIRL specials:
Amazon has inked a deal with Matel for a series of specials on the AMERICAN GIRL franchise.
