CW orderes 1970's era pilot:
The CW has put an untitled drama into development about a young female journalist getting hired as an on-air sports reporter, as a publicity stunt, in the mid-70's. The CW is partnering with Olivia Munn on the project.
Jada Pinkett Smith coming to ABC:
In a put-pilot order, ABC is bring Jada Pinkett Smith to the network in the drama MURDER TOWN. Even if the series is not ordered, the pilot will see the light of day on the network.
BLINDSPOT first for season renewal:
NBC has renewed the freshman drama series, BLINDSPOT, for a second season. BLINDSPOT is the first new series to get such an order for the 2016-17 season.
NBC Renews more:
The two veteran CHICAGO series have been picked up for the 2016-17 season. If you add THE VOICE and SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL to the mix, NBC has 10 of its 22 hours of programming filled for next fall.
New OTT service for local stations:
Telletopia is a new, non-profit foundation that plans on delivering live local TV broadcast, over the internet. Unlike the now defunct Aereo, Telletopia does plan on paying local station for retransmission rights. [LINK]
Obama & The Bear:
No, this isn't a remake title of the 70's action drama BJ & THE BEAR. But the spcial episode of RUNNING WILD WITH BEAR GRYLLS the President recorded during a recent trip to Alaska has an air date set. Set the DVRs for December 17th at 10PM to catch all the action.
PlayStation Vue signs on Disney:
Sony and Disney have signed a carriage deal that will put all the Disney owned networks on the PlayStation Vue OTT service.
More Z NATION:
SyFy has renewed the series Z NATION for a third season.
A little more MYSTERIES OF LAURA:
NBC has added three more episodes to this seasons order of THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA, bringing the total count to 16 episodes.
