US Box Office Results: January 2 - 4, 2015

UNBROKEN and INTO THE WOOD flipped positions, with the fantasy film rising one spot, to #2. Both films dropped about 35%, from last week, a relatively strong week-to-week change.
The lone new release in the top 10 was THE WOMAN IN BLACK 2, in the #4 spot. The sequel brought in over $15 million, on the weekend . That is down nearly six million dollars from the first film's opening weekend.
THE IMITATION GAME was the only release to score over a $10,000 per screen average, this weekend. Its $8.1 million take was generated in under 800 screens. It nearly doubled the per screen average from that of THE HOBBIT's $5,700 average.
