  • FOX eyeing more superheroes
  • Verizon OTT service date set
  • NFL launches new online presence
  • Netflix expanding originals offered

X-MEN: The TV series:
FOX is looking at developing a live action X-MEN TV series. FOX and Marvel will begin discussions of including TV rights from Marvel to FOX for X-MEN. But, remember that FOX currently has the WB property GOTHAM airing this season. If a series does happen, don't look for a premiere date before the 2016-17 TV season.



Verizon sets OTT service launch date:
In the latest earnings conference call, Verizon CFO Fran Shammo  stated that the planned OOT service will debut this summer. Little else was released about the service, such as cost, content, and so on.



Let them eat MORE cake:
TLC has renewed the reality series CAKE BOSS for two more seasons. Forty new episodes will air over 2015 and 2016.



YouTube getting NFL content:
The NFL has launched a YouTube Channel. it will feature about everything NFL, except live games. Look for the latest features, interviews, recaps, highlights and previews. The URL is YouTube.com/NFL.



Netflix Series expansion:
During last week's NATPE, Netflix CCO, Ted Sarandos, spoke about Netflix reaching a total of 20 originals per year, in the near future. In perspective, FOX currently has 15 series on the air, give or take a couple in flux.
