Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 01/15/15
FOX had an easy time winning the Thursday night ratings, as AMERICAN IDOL commands 10.4 million viewers and a 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49, from 8 to 10 p.m. The second Thursday night of the season, was off by 800,000 viewers and a half a point in the A18-49 ratings.
The only major threat to FOX, right now, is CBS, and they aired an encore episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY, along with originals of the rest of the night. Even with repeat viewership, BIG BANG was still the most watched program and #2 in the demo. MOM held up well, keeping nearly 90% of the total audience, out of BIG BANG, and just one tenth of a point, in the demo ratings. The rest of the night slid deeper ad the night progressed.
NBC poorly rated Thursday line up was just good enough to top ABC for third place. Neither network drew five million viewers to any program. ABC is in decent shape when GREY'S and SCANDAL return, but NBC will still have two unproven dramas, matched up with the return of THE BLACK LIST, after the Super Bowl.
The CW's presentation of THE WORLD DOG AWARDS did surprisingly half way decent. To come close to two million viewers is a bit of an accomplishment for a show like this, that most of us wrote completely off doing no better than a repeat of GOSSIP GIRL.
