Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 01/04/15
Although it only spilled over for one hour of primetime, the NFC wildcard game on FOX dominated the night. The game featuring the Lions vs the Cowboys, commanded 37.6 million viewers and a 12.6 rating in Adults 18-49. This is the second most watched NFC wildcard game ever, and is projected to become the most watched, once finals are released, later this week.
The four FOX comedies each did very well, averaging a 3.1 demo rating and 13 million viewers. Despite airing a rare original episode, FAMILY GUY still loses viewers out of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE.
Over on NBC, the season premiere of THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE did decent in the ratings. The Trump lead reality series collected 6.8 million viewers and a 2.3 demo rating. That is and increase of 1.6 million viewers and a jump in the demo by 35%, from the previous season premiere, in February, 2013. Perhaps a little rest is what the series needed, but we'll see if subsequent episodes fare as well.
ABC's series premiere of GALAVANT was not far of from recent airings of ONCE UPON A TIME, getting 7.9 million viewers and a 2.1 demo. But, for ABC, the good news stopped there. RESURRECTION lost over half the delivered audience, at 9 p.m., and REVENGE tanked at 10 p.m.
CBS was a solid second place in total viewers, but finished in 4th place in the A18-49 ratings. 60 MINUTES too a big hit against the NFL game, falling below a 1.0 demo number. The three dramas did about as expected, at normal season average numbers.
