Ratings Review: OUTLANDER (Season One - Fall 2014)

You do not expect much from an original series on the Starz premium cable channel, but the adaptation of the book OUTLANDER has quietly become a respectable cable hit for the movie channel.

Through its fall half of the first season, OUTLANDER grew its audience, from the previous episode, every week, except once. The fall finale drew twice as many viewers as did the series premiere. Equal in size to Showtime, OUTLANDER out performed just about every series on the higher profile channel, and comes close to the critically acclaimed HOMELAND premiere.

For the eight episode, fall half of Season one, OUTLANDER averaged 1.02 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49. Eight more episodes will begin in April, 2015, to round out the first season. Starz has renewed the series for another 13+ episodes, for season two.
