Primetime Cable Ratings: October 5, 2014

The critically acclaimed Showtime drama HOMELAND had its fourth season premiere on Sunday night and, as far as Showtime series go, it had a strong showing in the ratings. The opener collected 1.6 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in Adults 18-49, good enough to secure the #12 spot on the night's chart.  Compared to last year's season three premiere, HOMELAND lost just under 300,000 viewers and 25% in the A18-49 ratings. A good chunk of an audience size that was not to big to begin with.

Game three of the ALDS was the night's #1 show, commanding 4.4 million viewers and a 1.2 demo rating. The game saw the Royals sweep the Angels and advance to next week's ALCS, against Baltimore.

Back-to-back episode of ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER did well, grabbing the #2 and #5 spots, and averaging 2.3 million viewers, from 8 to 10 p.m. The bests both BOARDWALK EMPIRE and THE REAL HOUSE WIVES of NJ.
