Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall, passes away:
One of the great stars of the silver screen, Lauren bacall, passed away on Tuesday, at the age of 89.

Starting her career as a model, she got her first movie break in the Humphry Bogart movie, TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT. It was not long into that production that her 17 year relationship, including 12 years of marriage, with Bogart began.

The actress starred in over 50 hollywood films, including "How to Marry a Millionaire", "Key Largo", "Murder on the Orient Express", and "The Shootiest."

Her limited TV work does include being on the game show "What's My Line?", in 1953, and on "The Sopranos" in 2006.

Bacall won Tony Awards, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild awards, is a Kennedy Honnor and was nominated for an Oscar, in 1997, for THE MIRROR HAS TWO FACES. In September 2006, Bacall was awarded the first Katharine Hepburn Medal, which recognizes "women whose lives, work and contributions embody the intelligence, drive and independence of the four-time-Oscar-winning actress."

GRIT and ESCAPE launch next week:
The two new digital networks GRIT (for men) and ESCAPE (for women) is scheduled to launch on Monday, August 18, at 12 p.m., ET. The networks are from Katz Broadcasting.



NEW GIRL gets cable deals:
TBS and MTV have made deals to be the cable homes of the FOX comedy NEW GIRL. The deal will be for five years, beginning in the fall of 2015.



E! cancels series:
After two seasons on E!, the network has cancelled the series HELLO ROSS.



WWE Network now available internationally:
The U.S. English language version of WWE Network is available starting today, on an over-the-top basis, in more than 170 countries and territories, including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, Spain, and the Nordics, among others. The network is expected to be live in the U.K. by this October.
