The passing of Jame Garner:
The great actor JAMES GARNER passed away this weekend, at the age of 86. A star of both TV and movies, he will be best know for hist hit TV series MAVERICK and THE ROCKFORD FILES. Garner also starred in an early 90's comedy titled MAN OF THE PEOPLE, which he costarred with Kate Mullgrew. If you have never seen a James Garner movie, his best/funniest are SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF, the so-called sequel SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GUNFIGHTER and the hilarious MY FELLOW AMERICANS, co-starring Jack Lemon. Olympic TV Network:
The International Olympic Committee and it's 16 key members, have backed the creation of a year round Olympic TV channel. The channel would promote the Olympic sports, year round, promoting and reaching out to younger viewers.
No more Live+SD ratings for FX:
The cable network, FX, is ending the practice of reporting LIVE+SD ratings. it will instead opt for giving the LIVE+3 ratings numbers. FX/FOX state the L+3 number more accurately reflect the audience for a given series, with most viewers using time-shifted viewing.
FX Renews two series:
FX renewed two of its series. The drama FARGO and the comedy LOUIS. the second season of FARGO will feature 10 new episodes, while the fifth season of LOUIS will produce just 7 new episodes.

Over the past year, or more, there have been lots of rumors and possibilities of the NFL Sunday Ticket package leaving DirectTV and moving to a company like Google, Yahoo! or even Apple. But today, the NFL stated it expect to renew the package with DirectTV.
Lawless heads to S.H.I.E.L.D.:
XENA's Lucy Lawless is heading to ABC's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., but the network has the wraps on what the role will be or how long she will be with the series. The season premiere is September 23rd.
