NBC has picked up this year's hit summer drama THE NIGHT SHIFT for a 14 episode, second season.
CBS orders 2015 summer series:
The best selling book ZOO, written by James Patterson, is becoming a TV series. CBS has ordered 13 episodes of the series and will air in the summer of 2015. ZOO is a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet. As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, a young renegade biologist is thrust into the race to unlock the pandemic’s mystery before there’s no place left for people to hide.
Jennifer Love Hewitt's new gig:
The veteran actress will join the CBS crime drama CRIMINAL MINDS in the upcoming 2014-15 season. Hewitt will replace Jeanne Tripplehorn, who left the series after the 2013-14 season finale.
Cancelled twice in six months:
For a second time since it's January premiere, ABC has pulled the drama THE ASSETS from the schedule. The network will now air encores of MISTRESSES in it's place.
CBS makes more revenue per online viewer:
Variety has a story out that CBS makes 20% more ad revenue, per viewer, than it does with traditional TV. [LINK]

HBO is making the first episode of the new series THE LEFT OVERS available on Yahoo Screen, now through July 6th.
