Broadcast Final Ratings: May 8, 2014
We had the TWO AND A HALF MEN season finale, which did rise 5% in the A18-49 ratings, from it's THE MILLERS lead in, but viewership dropped about 7%. Week-to-Week, the long running series was even, in the demo ratings.
SURVIVING JACK had it's series finale, as the news of it's cancellation came yesterday. The short lived sitcom collected just 4.0 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the demographic. But, it did gain about 17% in the demo ratings, over last week's numbers. JACK may not have been a hit, but it did fare much better on the night than did the pathetic RAKE.
Overall, it was a very depressed Thursday night of TV as just about every series saw erosion in the ratings. Even THE BIG BANG THEORY was not immune to a sever drop, this late in the spring, as it posted its lowest numbers of the season.
Viewers stayed away from the American Comedy Awards, on NBC. The special drew just 3.2 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. I guess when people heard the promos say "Comedy" and "NBC" in the same sentence, they knew to stay far away.
Looking to not make the cut for 2014-15 is ABC's BLACK BOX. The new series has dropped each week, and posted it's lowest numbers on Thursday, with just a 1.1 demo rating. That is a 66% drop from the GREY'S ANATOMY lead in. Three years ago, SCANDAL held steady in the ratings, though it's limited run, first season.
