- NFL Today on CBS shakeup:
CBS Sports has let go studio analyst Dan Marino and Shannon Sharp and hired recently retired NFL player Tony Gonzalez.
- Rights to RAW and SMACKDOWN available to all:
The exclusive negotiation window between NBCU and WWE for the two wrestling franchises has passed with no deal. The WWE can now begin negotiation with other networks on the two programs, or chose to include them into the new WWE online channel. - Showtime renews two dramas:
Showtime has picked up SHAMELESS for a fifth seasona dn HOUSE OF LIES for a fourth season.
- Google Fiber expansion:
Google will expand it's one gigabite internet broadband services to up to 34 communities. Currently cable companies like Comcast offer 100MB, at best for their top broadband speed. [LINK]
- Super Digital Team channel:
The NBA, NHL, MLB and NASCAR have joined together to form 12 Sports, a digital only sports network. The network will have a steady stream of highlights and analysis and would be a competitor to ESPN. No live games are currently planned for the channel. [LINK] - Amazon digital box coming soon:
Amazon is looking to take on Chromecast, Roku and Apple TV with the company readying its own set top streaming device. [LINK]
- Aereo court setback:
Just two months out from the Supreme Court Hearing, a lower court judge has ruled for a preliminary injunction on Aereo from any further expansion until. This was the Southern Court in Utah that handed out the decision. [LINK] - No WWE PPV events on Dish:
Dish has dropped WWE Pay Per View events from its service as the WWE has created its own online network. The WWE Network is just $9.99 per month and includes PPV events.
