Ratings Review: CBS Tuesdays - November Sweeps
During the November sweeps, CBS overtook NBC as the top network of the night. It's strong, consistent ratings from all three dramas is now the dominate force on Tuesday night.
NCIS is the #1 regular series on TV and is only second to SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL in total viewers. It now win's it's 8 p.m. time slot as AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. has dropped significantly in the ratings. However, I was a little surprised that CBS preempted the #1 show on TV for the airing of the classic Christmas special, RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. The special did equal NCIS in the demo ratings, with a 3.0 score, but drew just 11.3 million viewers. However, this was a good test to see how NCIS: LA would do without the parent series as a lead in.
The week four ratings may have been down 2.7 million viewers, but it pretty much held it's A18-49 numbers. That is a good sign for the series as it could see a new night come fall of 2014.
PERSON OF INTEREST has grown into the time slot that CBS has had troubles with for many years. POI is down from last year, but the slow growth is winning viewers back and the series is now winning the 10 p.m. time slot in both reported categories.
All three series not only do well in the Live+SD ratings, but they regularly build strong numbers in their Live_3 Day ratings and Live +7 day ratings.
