Ratings Review: CBS Thursdays - November Sweeps

CBS has once again, won Thursday nights, during the November sweeps. It's mega-hit THE BIG BANG THEORY drew huge numbers, even with kicking off the month with an encore airing, on halloween night. A lot of the success the night has is mainly on the comedy's shoulders. It provides the best lead in another comedy can get, which trickles down to the 9 p.m. program.
The two new CBS comedies, THE MILLERS and THE CRAZY ONES are doing well, even if a lot of it is from following BIG BANG. But, they are far from previous post-BIG BANG comedies, like HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN and ROB!. These two look to have some staying power. It is encouraging to CBS to see the numbers rise through the sweeps and get their best numbers in week #4.

TWO AND A HALF MEN is doing an admiral job at 9:30 p.m. It is on it's last legg and this may be the last season for the former #1 comedy. It has played an important part of helping keep viewers tuned to CBS between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m..

ELEMENTARY is a stronger drama program than I thought. Yes, it's numbers are average, at best, but when you see how well it does in the Live+7 ratings, then you see there is a strong following for the series. Those one eek viewing totals are currently about 4.6 million more viewers and a gain of over 70% in the A18-49 ratings. CBS just need to find a way to get those DVR viewers to be Live viewers.
