CW Weekly Ratings: November 18 - 22, 2013

The CW took a bit of a tumble during the final full week of the November sweeps, thanks to the preemption of THE ORIGINALS for a Lady Gaga album launch party. Instead of getting 2+ million viewers on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., the iHeart Radio/Lady Gaga special drew just 860,000 viewers. That is a loss of 64% in viewers and 73% in the A18-49 ratings. And the Lady Gaga effect didn't stop at just the 8 p.m. time slot. SUPERNATURAL was down 15% in viewers and 19% in the demo, week-to-week. Perhaps The CW should stick these specials on Monday nights where the ratings may actually increase and not devastate an entire night.

Speaking of devastating, NIKITA totally underwhelmed the viewing public with its final season premiere. just 740,000 people cared enough to tune into the action drama. NIKITA also drew the networks lowest rating of the week in the A18-49 numbers. Fortunately, The CW is only on the hook for a handful of episodes for the series final season.

For the week, the CW averaged 1.48 million viewers and a 0.60 rating in Adults 18-49. That represents a drop of 17% in viewership and 20% in the Adults 18-49 ratings, from last week's numbers. The numbers are not expected to get much better over the holidays as most of the tens series will be on winter break.
