Ratings Review: CBS Wednesdays - First 4 Weeks
CBS continues to be a solid force on Wednesday nights, with the most consistent line up of the four Big Networks.
SURVIVOR: Bood vs Water aired a week before the official start of the 2013 fall season. over its five weeks, it has hovered around the 9.6 to 10.1 million viewer range the whole time. It wins the 8 p.m. hour for CBS, in both viewers and A18-49 ratings. It looks to be another good season for the series, but I have gotten tired with all the returning players over the last few years. its time for a season with 16-20 NEW players again.
CRIMINAL MINDS continues to pull in great numbers. Right at 11 million viewers and a mid two in the demo ratings. It does lose to MODERN FAMILY in the first half hour, but should now take the second half hour back as SUPER FUN NIGHT fades for ABC, in the 9:30 slot.
As cast members have come and gone... and come back again, the numbers have remained solid. The series is constantly in the top 15-20 shows in total viewership and in the A18-49 ratings. It may not be a huge demo ratings draw like THE VOICE or THE BIG BANG THEORY, but it has a strong, loyal audience. Even in the Live+3 and Live+7 ratings, it ranks near the top of growth from the Live+SD ratings.
CSI may be in its 14th season, and it is far removed from its glory days, but it can still win its time slot, in most weeks. It has been a tight race between the veteran crime series and ABC's NASHVILLE, in the A18-49 ratings, but as the season has progressed, NASHVILLE's numbers have been trending downward, while CSI's stays steady. Tonight, October 23, marks the series 300th episode. It may not make it for another 300, but another 50 may not be out of the question.
