Ratings Review: FOX Wednesdays - First 5 Weeks
Premiering on September 11th, THE X FACTOR was getting a full two week jump on all other programs on Wednesday night. unfortunately, it looks as if the early bird did not get his worm.
With little competition, THE X FACTORED opened to pretty horrible ratings. less than 6.5 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49, for the two hour edition. But, the numbers have begun to improves over the last three Wednesday airings.
Viewership is now over seven million viewers and pulling a mid-two demo rating. The numbers are still not good, but the fact that they are moving upward is an encouraging sign. It may be that ABC's new comedies have not captured an audience yet and REVOLUTION, on NBC, is a big disappointment in it new time slot.
THE X FACTOR is off for at least two weeks, and a possible third because of the MLB Playoffs. If the World Series goes to at least a 6th game, It may be November before THE X FACTOR returns to Wednesday nights. We'll see how the long layoff affects the ratings.
