Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 15, 2013
NBC rolled out the 15th season of its reality series THE BIGGEST LOSER, which drew a respectable 7.2 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49. That placed it 3rd in the hour in both measured categories. Compared to the season 14 opener, back in January, the viewership is almost even, but the A18-49 ratings dropped 23%. We shall see how long it takes CBS to win the night, now that THE VOICE is just one hour long.CBS had an usual solid night on Tuesday as all three series draw over 12 million viewers and NCIS wins the 8 p.m. hour in the A18-49 ratings. The other two series place second in the demo ratings,in their respective hours.
THE ABC line up continues to drop each week. AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. is down another tenth of a ratings point in the demo ratings. GOLDBERGS are off 16% in the demo and 700k in viewers and TROPHY WIFE is also down 770k and 7% in the demo ratings. at this rate, the FOX comedies could beat ABC on the night, in the A18-49 ratings, by next week.
The CW had a very good night. Both dramas drew around 2.3 million viewers and a demo rating of one or more. The network is reporting this is the best performance the CW has done on a Tuesday night in four years. It is definitely a big step in the right direction.
