CW Weekly Ratings: October 14 - 18, 2013
Week two of the CW season saw most shows getting a lift in the ratings, from last week's premieres. Monday's dramas saw slight increases of just a 30-40 thousand viewers, which is better than a drop of the same number. Still weak, but improving.
Tuesday's THE ORIGINALS saw a jump of 300k, or 16%, in total viewers and a 22% lift in the A18-49 ratings. Those gains were negated by the losses SUPERNATURAL had in the 9 p.m. hour (-260k in viewers, -17% in demo ratings).
ARROW jumped 300,000 this past Wednesday and up two tenths of a ratings point, while THE TOMORROW PEOPLE dropped 170,000 viewers and one tenth of a ratings point. Wednesday is the best rated night, in total viewers, but alls behind Tuesdays and Thursdays in the A18-49 ratings.
For its third outing, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES had the biggest gain of the week, with 800,000 viewers added since last week. It also saw a 30% increase in the demo ratings. New series REIGN received a decent start to its series un, grabbing two million viewers, but just a 0.8 demo rating.
Fridays even experienced an slight bump, thanks to the encore airing of REIGN, which nearly matched the new episode of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODLE in total viewers.
For the week, The CW averaged 1.88 million viewers and a 0.75 rating in Adults 18-49. That is more than a 10% increase, in both categories, from last week. The network seems to be moving in the right direction, but still has a ways to go if it ever want a chance to compete with the high boys.
