Week four of the 2013-14 season was split by CBS and NBC. CBS takes viewership and household categories, while NBC is the top network in the younger demographic ratings.

In total viewers, CBS was the network. It claimed 17 programs in the top 30, lead by the NFL Overrun game on Sunday, with over 25 million viewers. The network had the #1 drama (NCIS), the #1 comedy (THE BIG BANG THEORY and the #1 news program (60 Minutes). Excluding the Saturday night programs, CBS only had one show rank lower than 42nd, HOSTAGES at #56.

NBC rose to the top of the demographic ratings thanks to the Broncos/Colts game on Sunday night. The heavily hyped return of Peyton Manning to Indianapolis brought in the season's best ratings for SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. Nearly 28 million viewers tuned in to the game, including a 10.0 rating in adults 18-49. It was also the first time this season the Sunday night game drew more viewers than the NFL Overrun game on either FOX or CBS. In total, NBC placed six programs in the top 30, all from its Sunday and Monday lineups. The network's best showing from Tuesday to Saturday was CHICAGO FIRE at #35, with 8.1 million viewers.

ABC and FOX are non continders for a top two spot, so they battle it out each week for 3rd place. This week, ABC prevails. It collects six spots on the top 30 chart, lead by its Monday night line up of DANCING WITH THE STARS (#10) and CASTLE (#13). Halloween special TOY STORY OF TERROR placed 18th, with over 10.5 million viewers on Wednesday night.

FOX placed just one program in the top 30 and that was Saturday night's ALCS Game 6 (#24). The network's most watched series program was SLEEPY HOLLOW at #40. The three ALCS games finished better than the freshman drama.

The CW rose 10% in the ratings for its second full week of the 2013-14 season.
