2013 Commercial Cost Survey: The CW
Obviously, The CW has the lowest prices on their commercial spots. ARROW and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES command the top prices for the network, with TVD getting over $55k per spot. Coattails from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES to the new series REIGN are expected by the network as the yet to debut period drama is expected to be #3 money maker.
Largest drop, year to year will be the second year teen drama THE CARRIE DIARIES. It was expected to be a hit last year, but was nothing more than a fizzle. It's ad prices dropped over $22,000, or 53%.
The only series to actually see a price increase is the long veteran drama SUPERNATURAL. A modest $4,000 per spot was the best the struggling network could get.
