Ratings: Broadcast Finals for May 22, 2013
All four of the BIG networks pulled in good numbers on the last day of the 2012-13 regular season. CBS easily drew the most viewers and just edged out ABC and FOX for the A18-49 demo ratings win.
The most watched program of the night was the two-hour season finale of CRIMINAL MINDS, with 11.1 million viewers and a 2.8 demo rating. It, along with MODERN FAMILY, were the only programs on the night to draw over 10 million viewers.
ABC closed out its hit comedies THE MIDDLE and MODERN FAMILY. Both returning comedies drew ratings comparable to those earned over the last few weeks. However, the surprise of the night was NASHVILLE. Not only did the freshman drama beat CHICAGO FIRE, head-to-head, but it posted its best ratings since the last week in February.
Kicking off a new season is FOX's MASTERCHEF. The two episode premiere drew strong ratings, winning the 8 p.m. hour in the A18-49 ratings. At 9 p.m. the ratings increased by 10% in the demo and beat the season finale of LAW & ORDER: SVU. FOX should have a good summer, with their Tuesday - Thursday schedule.
