Ratings: Broadcast Finals for May 16, 2013
THE OFFICE wrapped things up with a 75 minute series finale and drew the series best ratings in 16 months. THE OFFICE collected 5.7 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in Adults 18-49. That is up 25% in viewers and 20% in the demo, from last week's episode.It was nice to see the THE OFFICE one last time. The best part of the episode was the return of Steve Carell. His brief apperance reminded me just how funny this show once was. THE OFFICE lost a lot when "Michael Scott" left for Colorado.
There were plenty of other season finales last night, so lets get straight to the numbers.
AMERICAN IDOL was up 24% in viewers and demo ratings, week-to-week. But, it was the worst finale ever for the series.
SCANDAL bested GREY'S ANATOMY for the second time in the past month. Both series drew 9 million viewers and above a 3.0 rating in Adults 18-49. SCANDAL will be a force next season. CBS and NBC do not have the show to challenge it.
THE BIG BANG THEORY is once again the nights top program in viewers, 15.5 million, and A18-49 ratings, 4.8. Even the encore episode that followed at 8:30 was the nights #3 program in both reported categories.
ELEMENTARY's two hour finale was only able to best HANNIBLE, WIPEOUT and the CW programs, in the A18-49 ratings.
The CW's two dramas closed the season on a flat note. The night's ratings were almost identical from the previous week's numbers. Next season, the series split up, with B&TB heading to Monday Nights.

FOX - 14,3 million viewers, 3.6 rating in Adults 18-49.
CBS - 10.5 million viewers, 2.7 rating in Adults 18-49.
CBS - 10.5 million viewers, 2.7 rating in Adults 18-49.
ABC - 7.3 million viewers, 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49.
NBC - 4.2 million viewers, 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49.
CW - 1.8 million viewers, 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49.
