Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 6, 2013
Four of the five networks gave us repeat programming, or a total of 8.5 out of 13 hours of "Encore" programming. So, lets see how the new shows did.
AMERICAN IDOL dominated as the night's the only show with viewership in double digit millions (12.8) and over a 3.0 rating in the demo ratings (3.8). It's closest competition was fellow reality series SURVIVOR it 9.4 million viewers and a 3.5 demo rating.
ABC is burning off their two younger comedies as quick as they can, letting them air originals while the rest of the night airs repeats. Both THE NEIGHBORS and SUBURGATORY posted a 1.7 demo ratings, but the latter drew a million less viewers. Both sitcoms have an uphill battle to get renewed for next season and it may be just a coin flip as to determine who stays and who goes.
NBC's lone original was WHITNEY. Yea, you know the numbers. They sucked. What else is new, right? The only thing that can save this series is a BAD development season. But, I am not sure the NBC executives can be trusted to really determine that, based on recent selections.
