Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 10, 2012
NBC debuted a new game show on MONDAY night and the ratings are not good, but not horrible either. TAKE IT ALL, hosted by Howie Mandel, drew 7.12 million viewers and a 2.2 demo rating. In the 9:00 p.m. hour, it ranked second behind the CBS comedies, but was closer to the basement level numbers ABC and FOX put up for the night. TAKE IT ALSO did not do well in retention. It lost 42% of the viewers and demographic ratings from THE VOICE lead in. Never a good sign if you are close to losing half of the audience delivered to you. The series is having a week long rollout, so we will track the game show and see if it can rebound from night #1.
CBS did very well now on MONDAY night. Of course it does help when DANCING WITH THE STARS is done until March and THE VOICE is only one hour. The double-shot of 2 BROKE GIRLS at 9:00 p.m. was strong enough to challenge THE VOICE as the top program of the night. The sophomore sitcom may be clicking at the right time as viewers may be sampling the series for the first time since last season.
HAWAII FIVE-0 had its best night of the season drawing a season best 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49 and its second best viewer numbers with 9.8 million. It has been a slow, but steady, climb back for the drama to get its numbers up after a depressed season opener and subsequent episodes.
FOX was a not factor on the night with its AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS. Just 5 million viewers and a 1.4 demo rating for the special. Viewers may be a little burnt out on the Country specials with Blake Shelton having a holiday special the week before and a couple of awards show already this fall.
ABC is just killing time on Monday night now. Averaging just a 1.1 demo rating and below 5 million viewers on the night. Yes, there is a reason EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION was canceled last season. Just look at those pathetic numbers.
