TV Ad Rate History: GOSSIP GIRL
Now in its 6th season, The CW's GOSSIP GIRL as lowered its ad rates every year, except one (2011). For a series they like to tab as a veteran hit, GOSSIP GIRL does not make the ad dollars the CW needs.
The CW's model is not as reliant on Ad dollars as the other four networks. It relys more on the International market, DVD & Streaming sales and potential syndicated rights. Which is good FOR GOSSIP GIRL since it dropped a whopping 49.8% from season on to season six.
