Ratings Review: THE BIG BANG THEORY (Season Eight)
THE BIG BANG THEORY continues to be one of the most popular TV shows on TV, even in its eighth season. It is one of the very few shows that can produces a live demo rating of a four, or better and regularly grabs over 20 million viewers a week, in the Live+7 ratings. Even its TBS syndication ratings boost that network to one of the strongest on cable.In the Live+SD ratings, BIG BANG averaged 14.54 million viewers and a 3.7 rating in Adults 18-49, over 32 airings, including 8 encores. Take out the encores and the new episode averag is 16.12 million viewers and a 4.3 demo rating.
In the Live+3 ratings, viewership for the new episodes adds about 4.2 million viewers and the A18-49 demo grows over 40%. it is usually one of the strongest programs in the "DVR ratings."
The live+7 ratings bring the total number of viewers to 21.4 million (+33%) and the A18-49 demo rating to a 6.5 (+51%).
