Ratings Review: Z NATION (Season One)

In true Hollywood fashion, once a new concept produces a bonafide hit, imitations will follow. Z NATION is SyFy's attempt to cash in on the Zombie fad, trying to get a fraction of the success THE WALKING DEAD is enjoying.

As far as comparing Z NATION to other SyFy series, it is on par with most of them, drawing about a million and a half viewers and about a half a ratings point in the A18-49 ratings. SyFy is a niche channel and draws a niche audience, even if the genre of a series s somewhat mainstream.

The positive side of Z NATION is the stability of the series. the season finale ratings is nearly identical to the ratings of the season premiere. There were some dips in the numbers, but the rebound towards the end is a positive sign.

for the season, Z NATION averaged 1.42 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49. Z NATION will be back in 2015 for a second season.
