CBS 2014-15 Fall Primetime Lineup
In the past, CBS has always been the most conservative network of the bunch. Picking up just a small few shows and very little changing of their schedule. In the fall of 2014, CBS is giving us their most aggressive schedule in a decade, relatively speaking.
CBS is giving us five new series, on five different nights. Four current series fine themdelves in new time slots, of which three are on completely new nights. Gone are the comedies between 9 to 10 p.m., on Monday nights, now we get the new drama SCORPION.
NCIS: LA moves to late Monday nights to make room for the new NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, on Tuesday nights. A good move to help build a following to the latest installment of the franchise.
CSI moves from Wednesdays to their 4th night in it's 15 season run, now airing at 10 p.m. on Sundays. At some point in the season, the new CSI: CYBER spin-off will take over for the parent series in the time slot. I wonder if the CSI episode order is 18 episodes, or less? STALKER takes over the Wednesday, 10 p.m. slot.
Long running reality competition series THE AMAZING RACE moves to Friday night to help shore up that troubled 8 p.m. slot. Not a bad move as viewership has thinned on Sundays, over the last few seasons, but could still generate a following on Fridays.
And finally, the new drama MADAME SECRETARY will follow 60 MINUTES, on Sunday nights, help pump some new blood into the night.
I think this is the most new fall series we have gotten from CBS in a long time and is definately the most changes we have seen in quite a while.
Look for our FIRST LOOK into each of the five new fall series, when made available.
New series in Bold and First Look features available.
MID-SEASON SERIES:
Returning - MIKE & MOLLY, THE MENTALIST, and UNDERCOVER BOSS.
New Series - BATTLE CREEK, THE ODD COUPLE, CSI: CYBER.
