Ratings Review: GRIMM (Season Two)
It was a weird and jumbled season for GRIMM. NBC first gave it a four week run, right after the Olympics, on Monday nights. The stunt didn't really take hold as the ratings were not any better than the previous season.
Then, NBC decided to split the rest of the episode into two separate segments. The Fall segment would run at the start of the regular season through November. A second segment would premiere in early March. Unfortunately, NBC fell into a rating pit in the spring and had to do some quick patch work to make things work. GRIMM was moved to Tuesdays in mid-April.
Even if the ratings are not that spectacular, that much fragmentation of a season schedule gives it a by for a third season, where it belongs, on Friday nights.
On Mondays, GRIM averaged just 4.96 million viewers and a 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49 for that 4 episode run. The fall run on Fridays, the series averaged 5.33 million viewers and a 1.7 demo rating, for the eight episodes. After a 4 month break, GRIMM returned to Fridays for a six episode run, averaging 4.57 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. Then to close out the season, GRIMM moved to Tuesday night and averaged 5.33 million and a 1.7 demo rating.
