US Box Office Results: January 18 - 20, 2019
GLASS, the sequel to both UNBREAKABLE and SPLIT, topped the weekend at the box office, grossing $40.6 million in its first three days of release. That is already more than double the film's production budget and is on its way to bring in well over $100 million, while in theaters.
THE UPSIDE was pushed down to second, with a $15.7 million take, bringing its total domestic gross to just under $44 million.
Surprisingly, the animated anime movie, DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY took the third spot, hauling in $10.7 million. It is the third best opening for an Anime movie, behind two Pokemon movies, from 20 years ago.
AQUAMAN's $10.3 million, for the weekend, pushed the DC Comics film over the $300 million mark. Worldwide, AQUAMAN had made over one billion dollars.
