#1s for the Week:
NBC won the first week of the new season, posting the top numbers in all three demographic categories and drawing the second most viewers, behind CBS. NBC pushed ten programs into the top 30, including a strong performance by freshman drama, MANIFEST, ranking 11th on the week.
FOX took second place, thanks to the Thursday Night Football premiere taking the #3 spot of the week. Revived sitcom, LAST MAN STANDING was strong on Friday night, collecting the #22 spot, with 8.1 million viewers. But, most of the FOX schedule ranked 36th, or worse.
CBS flooded the top of the chart, with 15 spots in the top 30. The usual suspects were near the top, with NCIS as top drama and THE BIG BANG THEORY as top comedy. Three new series made the top 30, lead by GOD FRIENDED ME at #13.
ABC was a close fourth place, but its only top 30 entries were Saturday Night College Football (#17) and the DANCING WITH THE STARS premiere (#29). Poor showing by THE GOOD DOCTOR (#33), GREY'S ANATOMY (#37) and MODERN FAMILY (#43) held the network back from a successful first week.
The CW doesn't premiere is new schedule until the week of October 8, so it takes the bottom 12 spots on the chart.
