Final Broadcast Ratings: January 10, 2018
it was a four-way race on Wednesday night as the BIG 4 Networks were neck-and-neck in the four reported categories. FOX is tops in the three demographics, with just a tenth of a point advantage over second place and two tenths over 4th place. NBC is edging CBS in total viewers and FOX is just above ABC for third in the total audience measurement.
Week two for FOX was about losses from last week's premieres. THE X-FILES dropped 1.2 million viewers and 23% in the demo, while 9-1-1, down from last week, saw gains out of THE X-FILES by roughly 50%. These may be the last new episodes we'll ever see of THE X-FILES.
NBC had consistency on the night, something ABC and CBS lacked, especially with the 10 PM time slot. NBC won the 10 PM hour and was second in the 9 PM hour. THE BLACKLIST was flat week-to-week, and LAW & ORDER: SVU and CHICAGO PD only experienced a slight drop.
For ABC, it was a roller coster night, with THE GOLDBERGS and MODERN FAMILY reaching peaks on the night, but the other two comedies and MATCH GAME were valleys. MATCH GAME was the lowest rated show of the night, from the BIG 4.
CBS looks good at 8 PM, winning the hour, but the two other dramas are at or near last place in their respective time slots.
The CW had adequate numbers for their two specials, filling time and space until next week's winter premieres for most of their series.
