Final Broadcast Ratings: October 9, 2017
It is premiere week for The CW, and Monday night was the opening for SUPERGIRL and new drama, VALOR. The season three opener of SUPERGIRL brought in 1.9 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down by 1.2 million viewers and 55% in the demo, from last year's premiere. VALOR retained 63% of the viewers from SUPERGIRL and 60% in the demo, to close out the night for The CW. That is on par with last year's season premiere of JANE THE VIRGIN, which occupied the time slot last fall.
THE VOICE was the #1 show of the night, leading NBC to a sweep in the nightly ratings. The show drew 10.9 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down from last week's numbers. THE BRAVE was flat week-to-week, keeping 5.1 million viewers and a 1.1 demo. But retention was less than 50% out of THE VOICE.
THE GOOD DOCTOR continues to draw solid numbers for ABC, taking in 10.7 million viewers and a 2.0 demo. But, that is off 8% in the A18-49 age group and a loss of 200,000 total viewers.
CBS edged out FOX, in the demo categories, to place third on the night. CBS appears to have some local preemptions for sports programming.
For FOX, THE GIFTED is doing relatively well, growing out of its LUCIFER lead in. In the A18-49 demographic, the audience was increased 33%.
