US Box Office Results: August 18 - 20, 2017
New releases take two of the top three spots on the weekend chart, starting with HITMAN'S BODYGARD at #1. The Samuel L. Jackson/Ryan Reynolds action comedy hauled in 21.6 million in its first three days of release, nearly equalling its $29 million production budget.
At #2 was the comedy, LOGAN LUCKY, taking in a soft $8.1 million. It two had a $29 million production budget, but will have a very hard time recouping that number by the end of its theatrical run.
Last week's #1, ANNABELLE: CREATION driped to the #2 spot, adding $15.5 million. Its 10-day total is at $64 million, over four times its $15 million production budget, and on its way to over $100, domestically.
DUNKIRK is still going strong, adding another $6.7 million, for a five week total of $166 million, domestically. Worldwide, the WWII drama has accumulated just under $400 million.
