Final Broadcast Ratings: January 6, 2017

ABC edges out CBS for the Friday night win, with relatively solid performances from the entire line up. LAST MAN STANDING pulled it best ratings of the season, drawing 7.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49. That is a 25% improvement in the demo, from the previous season best, and more than a million viewers above the season high. DR. KEN also saw similar improvement to season highs and SHARK TANK posted its best numbers of the season.

Despite a second place showing, the CBS lineup had one of its best showing of the season. MACGYVER had its best night since September. HAWAII FIVE-O was near season highs in viewership and BLUE BLOODS equalled its best numbers of the season.

For FOX and NBC, the improved ratings did not overflow to them. ROSEWOOD is a lesser replacement for HELL'S KITCHEN, at 8 PM and SLEEPY HOLLOW premiered to no better numbers than what THE EXORCIST posted in the 9 PM slot.

The sixth season premiere of GRIMM posted a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49, along with 4.5 million viewers, near where it ended season five on. The Series event premiere of EMERALD CITY did not draw in viewers either, but did slightly improve the A18-49 demo out of GRIMM. As long as EMERALD CITY series had been in and out of development, I am not that surprised at the result.
