As expected, NBC dominated the week in the ratings, crushing all other networks with its full week of Summer Olympics coverage. All seven nights took the top 7 spots, with Tuesday night grabbing the biggest numbers, with 33.4 million viewers and a 10.0 rating in Adults 18-49. Compared to the similar week of the 2012 summer games, NBC is down four million viewers and 20% in the A18-49 demographic.
In the leftover scraps, CBS benefited the most, taking 15 of the top 30 spots. ABC took the remaining eight spots and FOX did not come close to pushing a program into the top 30.
With the other four networks producing low ratings, Univision moved pass FOX for the #4 spots of the week, bringing in 1.59 million viewers and tied with ABC in the A18-49 demo, with a 0.6 rating. Telemundo was fifth in total viewership and demo rating, but fell short in the household ratings. ION-TV pretty much match the numbers FOX generated, with just s few thousand less viewers and a tenth of a ratings point less in the demo. The two networks matched the same Household rating of a 0.8.
So, for those keeping count, NBC was #1, followed by CBS and ABC. Univision was the #4 network of the week, with Telemundo right behind, in fifth. FOX edged out ION-TV for the #6 spot and The CW was the #8 broadcast network of the week.
