Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 07/27/2016
NBC swept the Wednesday night ratings, but it was not a slam dunk. AMERICA'S GOIT TALENT was down 1.6 million viewers and 26% in the A18-49 demographic, from last Wednesday's episode. THE NIGHT SHIFT did above average, drawing six million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating, at 9 PM.CBS' only bright spot of the night was BIG BROTHER, and it was down a notch from last Wednesday. AMERICAN GOTHIC continues to bleed viewers, losing between as much as 65% of its lead in audiences, in some demos.
FOX edged by ABC for third, with the season finale of WAYWARD PINES. The sophomore drama collected 2.3 million viewers and a 0.7 demo rating. This may be the last we see of WAYWARD PINES, as the second season was rather disappointing in the ratings.
The CW did perk up and competed with ABC and FOX. PEN & TELLER: FOOL US was up about 18% in viewers and a tenth of a point in the demo, from last week. WHOSE LINE? saw an even bigger jump, adding 600,000 viewers and two tenths of a point to its A18-49 demo rating.
