Final Broadcast Ratings: July 26, 2016
It was another Tuesday night win for NBC, as AMERICA'S GOT TALENT dominated the night, even with a special THE BACHELORETTE airing on ABC. AGT collected 10.5 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49, from 8 to 10 PM. That is down 600k in viewers from last Tuesday's numbers, but the demos stayed mostly flat, week-to-week. With a nice lead in, NBC News coverage of the Democratic National Convention went on to win the 10 PM hour.
THE BACHELORETTE was competitive in its two hour time slot, but did not grab the viewership levels it usually gets on Monday nights. The numbers were down a half a point in the A18-49 demographic and total viewership was off by 1.6 million viewers, from the previous night.
The season finale of HOTEL HELL didn't do much in the ratings, except beat CBS and lead fox to a rare third place finish. FOX took the younger, A18-34 and A18-49 demographics and was just a tenth behind CBS in the older A25-54 demo.
CBS should just give up on its news division, outside of 60 Minutes. It continually is the lowest rated outlet, including the cable news networks.
The CW was all now on the night, but the reboot of MAD TV did not bring in the viewers. Just 800,000 total viewers tuned in to the premiere. Perhaps word of mouth of the series return will help spurn interest in the series.
