Top 100 Primetime Cable: January 25 - 31, 2016

Politics set the weekly cable ratings, as the last GOP Presidential Debate before the first caucus was the week's most watched program and was the #2 show in the A18-49 demographic ratings. FOX News placed five shows within the top 11 spots and ten within the top 40. CNN was not left out as the Iowa Democrat Town Hall ranked 12th, with 3.2 million viewers. The network also placed a few other news program in the top 100.

The NFL Pro Bowl, on ESPN, was the week's top sports program, drawing eight million viewers and the top A18-49 ratings, with a 2.8 score. Quite a few college basketball games are sprinkled within the chart, with the most watched getting just under three million viewers.

GOLD RUSH was the top original reality series, ranking 6th, with 4.0 million viewers and a solid 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. That topped the #2 show of the genre, FIXER UPPER, which brought in 3.7 million viewers for HGTV.

Scripted originals had a tough time this week. THE HAVES & HAVE NOTS was the top in the genra, with three million viewers, ranking 17th on the week. It was the only original scripted show in the top 50, with the next highest rated show being a Hallmark movie, at #53.
