In a week where none of the networks had any special programming or NFL football, CBS shows its depth and dominance. CBS took the entire top 10 spots and 17 of the top 30. Only one CBS program finished outside of the top 40, Saturday's 48 HOURS. The network also swept the key demographics and won in households and total viewership. It was a good week for CBS.
FOX is seeing a bit of a surge in 2016, finishing second in the key demographics. THE X-FILES six episode event is proving to be a great programming decisions it has been one the highest rated shows in the A18-49 demographic, this winter. FOX will also see financial gains from the series as MyNetwork TV will run the series in its line up, starting this fall. FOX only placed three shows in the top 30, THE X-FILES (#17) and AMERICAN IDOL (#11 and #14), but that is about a third of the networks on air schedule.
ABC edges out NBC for the #3 spot of the week, as both networks drew the same number of viewers and only one tenth of a point separates them in both key demo ratings. ABC's best performing program was THE BACHELOR, at #16, and the network places six shows in the top 30. CHICAGO PD was NBC's best showing at #12, and they pushed just five shows in the top 30. Without football or THE VOICE, NBC is a very mediocre network.
For the CW, THE FLASH scored a top 10 ranking in the A18-34 demographic, scoring a 1.5 rating. That is less than a full point below the #1 show in the category, THE BIG BANG THEORY.
