Final Broadcast Ratings: December 8, 2015
Tuesday night was a night filled with fall/season/series finales as eight of the 13 programs on the night, ended in one for or another.
NBC was the top network on the night, sweeping all categories. The network was #1 at 8 and 9 p.m., but fell to CBS, for second place, at 10 p.m. The network also had three of the top five most watched shows on the evening, including THE VOICE, at #1. CHICAGO MED and FIRE both ended their fall part of the season, each collecting over 9 million viewers and at least a 2.0 rating in the A18-49 demo.
CBS gave us two NCIS encores, but the annual VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW was a hit. It was the #1 program on the night, in the A18-34 demographic and #2 in the A18-49 demo. This was a younger skewing audience.
FOX closed out the first/only season of SCREAM QUEENS as it struggled against the CW in the ratings. With the very lackluster numbers the series brought in this fall, I would be surprised if it returns for another season.
The CW closed out its Wednesday shows to good numbers, but the were down from the previous week. Expect a lot of encores of THE FLASH, along with ARROW, over the next month as the CW is mothballed though most of December and into mid January.
ABC's Tuesday night lineup each aired their fall finales to little fanfare or viewers. Neither of the three series were able to draw four million viewers. The 8 p.m. comedies were a low 4th place in the hour and AGENTS OF SHIELD was 3rd place, by default of easier competition.
