Preliminary Ratings: Monday 10/26/15
With a strong premiere of SUPERGIRL, CBS stayed tight with NBC, in the Monday night ratings. The Latest superhero series pulled in 12.9 million viewers and a 3.2 rating in Adults 18-49. Better numbers than THE VOICE did during its two hour block. SUPERGIRL's retention out of THE BIG BANG THEORY was 81% in total viewers and 76% in the A18-49 demographic. It was a definite improvement over LIFE IN PIECES and gives a positive outlook for the series to hold its own, when it begins leading off the night, next week.
With a better lead in and a 90 minute episode, SCORPION had its best numbers since the season premiereIt drew a 1.9 rating in the A18-49 age group and collected 9.6 million viewers. The super-sized episode also rose the 10 p.m. average, dramatically, over the usual NCIS: LA numbers.
DANCING WITH THE STARS and THE VOICE are in a dead heat in total viewers, but THE VOICE rose week-to-week, while DWTS dropped. BLIND SPOT also rose over last week's episode, improving in three of the four categories and remaining flat in the A18-34 demo.
ABC held onto third place, even with an encore of CASTLE. The ratings for the crime drama did not drop much from last week's original episode.
GOTHAM, the other DC Comics series on the night, held steady, but is by far, the inferior series to SUPERGIRL, ratings wise. Overall, it did less than half the ratings the CBS series produced.
