Final Broadcast Numbers: September 30, 2015
Night ten of the 2015-16 TV season featured three season/series premieres, all dramas. On CBS, the season premiere of CRIMINAL MINDS drew the best premiere numbers, with 10.1 million viewers, a 2.0 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 2.7 rating in the A25-54 demo. That is down 1.6 million in total viewers and a drop of 26% in the A18-49 demo.
Following MINDS was the new medical drama, CODE BLACK. It did hold 85% of its lead in numbers, but its 8.6 million viewers and 1.5 rating in the A18-49 demo, is down from last year's STALKER premiere, in the same time slot. But, percentage-wise, CODE BALCK did better retaining its lead in than STALKER, in 2014.
On NBC, CHICAGO PD basically mirrored its lead in numbers, hauling in 6.7 million viewers and a 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49. That is off by 1.8 million viewers and two tenths of a point in the A18-49 demo, from the 2014 premiere.
FOX was the nights top network, thanks to EMPIRE, however the hot drama dropped 2.5 million viewers and over 15% in the demo, from last week's season premiere. 8 p.m. drama, ROSEWOOD saw similar similar losses, so lets see if the DVR ratings make up the numbers.
ABC held mostly steady, week-to-week, but the 9 p.m. comedies did see a significant drop. MODERN FAMILY was off by 800,000 viewers and two tenths of a ratings point, in the A18-49 demo, and BLACK-ISH lost 1.4 million viewers and six tenths of a point in the demo.
