The second full week of the 2015-16 TV season looked a lot like the first week. NBC sweeps the three younger demographic ratings and CBS taking the most viewers and house holds. The two networks are second in those categories they did not win. FOX, with an NFL boost, did challenge ABC for the #3 spot, taking 'Show' in the A18-34 demo and tying ABC in the A18-49 and A25-54, for third.
FOOTBALL was the real winner of this week, as the top four spots and six of the top ten are NFL Games/programming. FOX was only able to challenge ABC because of the NFL Overrun and THE OT, and CBS and NBC are running way ahead of the others because of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, respectively.
Looking at the top 30 in total viewership, NBC placed six programs (8 hours) into the top 30, including five in the top 12. CBS placed the most shows, 16, into the top 30, which covers 16 hours of of the 22 hour schedule. FOX did place three programs in the top 10 and the top 30. EMPIRE was the networks only regular series to even make the top 45. ABC didn't place a single show in the top 15, but did placed five within the top 30.
This week's top premiere was MADAM SECRETARY, pulling in 11.8 million viewers.
BLINDSPOT looks to be a true hit for NBC as it has pulled strong numbers after THE VOICE, with little week-to-week erosion.
As for the first to be cancelled, the battle is between MINORITY REPORT (FOX) and THE PLAYER (NBC). One, if not both, should be gone before the November sweeps.
